AEW Collision Results:
This week’s episode of AEW Collision kicks off with quick promos from Mark Briscoe and Kyle Fletcher to hype up their match later on tonight.
Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir come to the ring taking out some security guards. Moxley complains about Adam Copeland wanting an AEW World Title shot and says he has no power here. Mox says he has a thousand reasons why he won’t give him a title shot. Moxley says he doesn’t like anything about Cope.
Moxley says he doesn’t know anything about AEW or being AEW Champion so he can take his challenge and stick it up his ass. Mox however accepts the challenge for the tag team match next weekend at Grand Slam Australia.
The Undisputed Kingdom vs. Shane Taylor Promotions vs. Daniel Garcia, Daddy Magic, and Cool Hand Ang
- The finish of the match saw Adam Cole hit Carlie Bravo with The Boom to score the pinfall victory for his team.
Winners: The Undisputed Kingdom
After the match, Adam Cole tried to shake Daniel Garcia’s hand but they were all jumped by the AEW Trios Champions, The Death Riders. The Undisputed Kingdom gets the better of them and chases them off. Cole gets on the microphone and challenges them to a Trios Title match this Wednesday on Dynamite.
Grade: B+
Fun Trios match to kick off the show. The thought of getting the Trios Titles off of The Death Riders fills me with great joy. So yeah, give us a title change this Wednesday. It’s long overdue.
Are FTR targeting The Hurt Syndicate?
A vignette plays for FTR who make it clear they are determined to be three-time AEW World Tag Team Champions.
Max Caster is backstage with Alicia Atout. Caster is upset about how Hangman Page treated him earlier this week on Dynamite and challenges him to a match this Wednesday.
Bandido vs. Bryan Keith
- The finish of the match saw Bandido hit Bryan Keith with the 21 Plex to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Bandido
Grade: A-
Great match. It’s really good to see Bandido back and healthy. It’s also lovely to see Bryan Keith out there working like his old self and not a lackey of Chris Jericho. Would love to see another match between these two in the future.
Powerhouse Hobbs calls out Big Bill
Powerhouse Hobbs is backstage with Lexy Nair. Hobbs challenges Big Bill to a match this Wednesday on Dynamite.
RUSH, Dralistico, and The Beast Taurus vs. Aries Alexander, Jay Alexander, and Brick Savage
- The finish of the match saw RUSH hit Aries Alexander with The Horns to score the pinfall victory for his team.
Winners: LFI
After the match, LFI continues to beat down their opponents until Komander hits the ring and takes out all three members of LFI. Eventually, LFI gets the better of him and tried to rip off his mask, which leads to the return of Hologram.
Komander and Hologram brawl with LFI to the backstage area as RUSH knocks out a referee in the ring with a stiff forearm.
Grade: N/A
This was a squash match and I rarely grade those, but the aftermath with the return of Hologram was great. Happy to have him back on the active roster.
Megan Bayne isn’t looking to make friends
Backstage Thunder Rosa tries to introduce herself to Megan Bayne but gets the cold shoulder instead. Rosa blows the situation off and hypes up her match for later on in the evening against Penelope Ford.
Mercedes Moné tried to ruin the Halftime Harley Show
Harley Cameron is in the ring ready to do her concert. Cameron sings The Moné Train but is interrupted by Mercedes Moné. Cameron was prepared for the interruption and had another song prepared for this occasion. Moné cuts her song off again and tells her it’s time to get real.
Mercedes Moné says the puppet on Harley’s back can probably wrestle better than her and get the hell out of her ring. Cameron says she’s new at this and she has fought hard to get to where she is today and she’s not stopping. Cameron says she wants to face Mercedes in her hometown next week for the TBS Championship.
Harley Cameron says the most entertaining Mercedes has ever been is when she’s had her hand up her puppet ass. Mercedes slaps Harley and Cameron responds by decking her with the microphone sending Mercedes out of the ring. Mercedes agrees to the match and says she can’t wait to embarrass her in front of her family next week.
There is a quick face-to-face between Buddy Matthews and Kazuchika Okada. It was honestly pretty pointless which is disappointing because I was looking forward to what this segment might end up being.
A quick squash match on AEW Collision
Dustin Rhodes vs. Izzy James
- A super quick squash match that saw Dustin Rhodes hit Izzy James with Cross Rhodes to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Dustin Rhodes
After the match, Rhodes gets on the microphone and tells MJF he’s not the devil. Rhodes explains he’s gone up against the devil before and kicked his teeth in. Rhodes says he’s a survivor and tells MJF everything he thinks he’s gonna do to him has already been done. Dustin says he’s going to drag MJF to hell and he’ll meet the actual devil. Rhodes says he’ll give him a Texas-sized ass whooping for the ages.
Grade: N/A
One of the quickest squash matches I’ve ever seen. Hah!
Thunder Rosa vs. Penelope Ford
- The finish of the match saw Thunder Rosa hit Penelope Ford with the Tijuana Bomb to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Thunder Rosa
After the match, Megan Bayne makes her way to the ring. Ford attacks Rosa from behind which allows Bayne to hit Rosa with an F5.
Grade: B+
Very good match. I’m excited to see Thunder Rosa take on Megan Bayne. That should be a fantastic matchup.
Ricochet loves some burgers
A video clip airs from last night’s DEFY show where Ricochet Swerve Strickland had another altercation.
Backstage at Collision rapper Bun B is in the house with his Trill Burgers. Ricochet interrupts and runs down Bun B, his burgers, and Swerve. Ricochet tells Bun B to tell Swerve and Prince Nana thanks for the jacket.
What is a Glamorous Exhibition?
Mariah May vs. Shay Karmichael
- A very quick squash match which saw Mariah May get the quick win.
Winner: Mariah May
After the match, May puts a Toni Storm robe on Karmichael and smears lipstick on her face. Luther comes out with the shoe May turned on Storm with on a silver platter. May stole it and tried to use it on Karmichael but it was Storm instead and attacked May. Storm tries to hit Storm Zero on the steel steps but Mariah escapes through the crowd.
Grade: N/A
The aftermath of the match was excellent, but the match was a nothingburger. I don’t mind a squash on a show. But three of them on one show is a bit excessive for my tastes.
The Don Callis Family is shown backstage randomly attacking people.
Mark Briscoe vs. Kyle Fletcher
- The finish of the match saw Kyle Fletcher hit Mark Briscoe with a brainbuster on the top turnbuckle to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Kyle Fletcher
Grade: A
After the match, Fletcher gets on the microphone and says Briscoe’s previous win over him was a fluke just like Will Ospreay’s was at Worlds End. Fletcher hypes up next week’s tag match as AEW Collision goes off the air.
AEW Collision Review:
I thought this was a much better show than last week. Some good matches with a lot of storyline advancement. They set up Dynamite this Wednesday very well and I’m excited about that. The show likely would have been an A- if it didn’t have so many squash matches on it. But since it did…
Grade: B+
