Sonya Deville’s time with WWE is coming to an end.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that, per WWE sources, Sonya Deville will be leaving the company later in February, as she was informed that WWE would not be renewing her contract. Once her deal expires, she would be eligible for free agency. She would be able to perform anywhere due to the lack of a non-compete clause.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select confirmed the news as well.
Deville competed on WWE Tough Enough in 2015 and signed with the company. She joined the NXT roster, and she later moved to the main roster in 2017. She joined forces with Mandy Rose and Paige to form Absolution. Deville and Rose later broke off on their own as Fire and Desire. She went on to feud with Rose, and she also had a run as an authority figure alongside Adam Pearce. Deville returned to the ring and later won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Chelsea Green. She then suffered a torn ACL in July 2023. Deville was sidelined for the next several months.
Sonya Deville returned in May 2024, and she formed Pure Fusion Collective with Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark. She last wrestled at the WWE Main Event taping on February 3rd, where she lost to Natalya. She also competed in the Women’s Royal Rumble.
