The Authors of Pain (AOP) have been released by WWE.
On February 7th, Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that the Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) have been released by WWE. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select confirmed the news as well. The move came alongside the news that their manager, Paul Ellering, had been released.
The Authors of Pain previously had a WWE run from 2016-2020, and they held the NXT Tag Team Championship and the RAW Tag Team Championship. They were released in a wave of cuts in April 2020. The duo reportedly re-signed with WWE in 2022 and returned in January 2024. They aligned with Karrion Kross and joined the Final Testament. They last wrestled at the WWE Main Event taping on December 30th, 2024, where they beat the LWO.
WWE also released Blair Davenport and informed Sonya Deville that they would not be renewing her contract on February 7th.
