Ari Emanuel: WWE Numbers Are Up On Netflix, We’re Thrilled

WWE premiered on Netflix on January 6th, and Ari Emanuel, the CEO of TKO Group, says they’re thrilled with how the move has gone so far.

WWE landed a $5 billion deal with Netflix in January 2024, and it officially began with RAW’s premiere on Netflix on January 6th.

Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Ari Emanuel, the CEO of TKO Group, was asked about WWE’s move to Netflix.

“They’re Incredible partner,” Emanuel said. “Show’s performing, so we’re thrilled, and I think they’re happy. The numbers are up really good, so all good.”

Emanuel was also asked to recall how WWE landed their deal with Netflix, and he recalled how they initially talked about NXT moving to the streaming service.

“I had breakfast with Bella, she runs all of content and programming underneath [Netflix co-CEO] Ted Sarandos at Netflix. We did a presentation to her, and then all of sudden, first started talking about NXT, actually, and then it just immediately moved to Raw.

“Over Christmas a year and a half ago, we’re on a Zoom, it’s all approved, we have to have a conversation with Ted Sarandos. We get the Zoom right before the Christmas holiday, he’s there with his CFO, it all gets done, we hang up the phone, we do a jig [laughs].”
