Def Rebel songs are seemingly very unpopular among WWE Superstars, according to a recent report.
The music production company has been in charge of WWE entrance themes since 2019. However, their tenure has coincided with some mixed opinions on WWE theme music, with plenty of criticism aimed towards the group at the 2025 Royal Rumble.
They have faced scrutiny for the quality of the wrestlers’ entrance themes, with complaints about their low quality and genericness that made differentiating between the stars when making their regular entrance during the Royal Rumble match. As it turns out, it’s not just the fans who aren’t happy with Def Rebel’s output.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that numerous wrestlers have expressed their dissatisfaction with the quality of the entrance music.
The report also notes that Def Rebel producers haven’t interacted with any wrestlers looking for input on their songs. Some (including Sheamus) have even requested a return to previous music not created by the group.
Per Sapp, WWE has made requests to change some themes that the talent “vehemently pushed back on.” While some talent have kept their previous themes, others have not. The report emphasizes that few people on the WWE roster are happy with the Def Rebel themes, and multiple incoming talent preferred to keep their own themes.
