TNA iMPACT Results:
This week’s episode of TNA iMPACT kicks off with a recap of last week’s show.
The Joe Hendry concert kicks off the show, which featured multiple songs including a revised version of “We Are The Champions.”
The concert is eventually interrupted by Jake Something, who announces he talked to Santino Marella and he’ll face him next week for the TNA World Championship. Hendry accepts.
Masha Slamovich is backstage with Gia Miller. Slamovich says she thrives on chaos, and she’s looking forward to watching the battle royal later tonight to determine her opponent next week. Slamovich also sent out a warning to NXT’s Cora Jade, reminding her that she writes her X’s in lipstick, but she writes hers in blood.
Ace Austin vs. Tyson Dupont (w/ Wes Lee and Tyriek Igwe)
- The finish of the match saw Ace Austin hit Tyson Dupon with The Fold to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Ace Austin
After the match, Austin gets attacked by all three men before being saved by The Rascalz.
Grade: B-
Decent opening match. Ace Austin did a lot of heavy lifting in this match, as Dupont isn’t quite ready for primetime yet. But that’s most likely going to be a big part of the TNA-NXT partnership going forward.
Tessa Blanchard won’t compete in tonight’s Knockouts battle royal
Tessa Blanchard is backstage and announces she won’t compete in tonight’s battle royal because she won’t allow the roster a chance to gain up on her and toss her out.
A vignette airs for Mance Warner and Steph De Lander.
NXT’s Cora Jade joins the commentary team for the next match.
TNA Knockouts Championship #1 Contenders Battle Royal
- The finish of the match saw Savannah Evans toss out Xia Brookside from the apron to win the match.
Winner: Savannah Evans
Grade: B
This was a fun battle royal, but it certainly magnifies a new problem TNA has in 2025: their Knockouts division isn’t nearly as deep as it used to be. The partnership with NXT should be able to help with that, as they arguably have one of the deepest women’s rosters in wrestling right now.
Eric Young explains his actions
Eric Young comes to the ring with The Northern Armory. Young says they are the new Northern Armory and they run TNA Wrestling. Young says Josh Alexander quit and he was going to leave his new stablemates out in the cold and he wasn’t just going to stand by. Eric says Canadians have been running TNA forever.
Steve Maclin comes out and tells Young that he has crossed the line. Maclin says as long as he’s with The Northern Armory, he’s out and walks out on Young.
This brings out Josh Alexander, who says he’s still standing here, and Young hasn’t removed him from TNA yet. Alexander says his time in TNA is coming to an end soon, but he loves TNA, and the company means everything to him. Alexander says Santino has granted him his final wish, and he’ll face Young in his final TNA match next week.
Sami Callihan is backstage looking for Mance Warner. Callihan confronts Frankie Kazarian and asks him where Warner is. Kazarian says he has no idea who that is. Callihan storms off, and Kazarian yells at Santino Marella, who says he saw what happened and he’ll handle it.
The Hardys and Leon Slater vs. The System (w/ Alisha Edwards)
- The finish of the match saw Jeff Hardy hit Moose with a Swanton Bomb to score the pinfall victory for his team.
Winners: The Hardys and Leon Slater
Grade: B+
This was a very entertaining match. I enjoy watching The Hardys continue to try and elevate younger talent by teaming up with them and giving them the rub. These kind of moments can’t be understated on how important they are in terms of fan perception.
Is Mustafa Ali building a new stable?
Backstage Mustafa Ali says encouraging words to The Good Hands and Tasha Steelz. It appears Ali might be looking to form a new group in TNA.
Matt Cardona vs. Mike Santana
- The finish of the match saw Mike Santana hit Matt Cardona with Spin the Block to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Mike Santana
Grade: B+
These two work very well together. This was my favorite match on the night so far. I wish it felt like TNA had more of a plan for Cardona, but it appears he’s just back to lose to all their top stars at the moment, which is kinda disappointing to me because he deserves better than that.
It’s time for the main event…
WWE NXT Tag Team Title Match: Fraxiom (c) vs. The Nemeth Brothers
- The finish of the match saw Ryan Nemeth try to use a steel chair and Nic Nemeth stopped him. This resulted in Fraxiom hitting a double-team move on Ryan. Axiom scores the pinfall victory for his team.
Winners: And still NXT Tag Team Champions, Fraxiom
Grade: B+
Fraxiom celebrates their victory as TNA iMPACT goes off the air.
TNA iMPACT Review:
While not as good as their live show two weeks ago, this was still an overall entertaining episode of iMPACT. We got some good matches and some big match announcements that will take place next week. Another live iMPACT is coming later this month from Full Sail, I’m very curious to see what the company has up its sleeve for that event.
Grade: B
