MJF stands by his mention of Cody Rhodes.
On AEW Dynamite, in-ring veteran Dustin Rhodes called out Maxwell Jacob Friedman for his recent, unkind words toward Jeff Jarrett. In response, MJF claimed that it took Dustin 37 years to escape the shadow of his father, WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes. MJF additionally claimed that Dustin was now back in the shadows, specifically those of his younger brother and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
Naturally, the later comment drew disapproval from Dustin, as he imminently struck MJF in retaliation. Elsewhere, former WWE referee Jimmy Korderas has voiced his displeasure for the remark as well, writing “Great job MJF of reminding your audience about the man who is on top in the other company!” in reference to Cody Rhodes on X (formerly Twitter). MJF has since clapped back at Korderas’ criticism in candid fashion.
“His brother. My mentor. A guy who helped shape me early on in my career. Your old boss brainwashed you into believing we need to treat the fans like morons and pretend other Wrestling companies don’t exist,” MJF wrote on X. “You dumb ignorant bald grifting f*** …respectfully.”
The interaction between Korderas and MJF continued with the former thanking the latter for his “eloquent” reply before reminding him that he’s learned from many in-ring veterans, such as Adam Copeland, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and Cody Rhodes.
“Great,” MJF said in response. “You want me to name everyone I’ve rubbed shoulders with? All those men you named are some of the all time greats. Doubt they would waste there time spewing absolute nonsense. You’ve had a hell of a career. Just stop grifting.”
Next week, MJF will take on Dustin Rhodes in the ring on AEW Dynamite, which emanates from Austin, Texas.
