The Undertaker Says His Match With Goldberg Was Ugly, ‘I Stunk’

The Undertaker admits that his disastrous match with Goldberg in Saudi Arabia was “a little ugly”.

The two wrestling legends battled for the first and only time at WWE Super Showdown in 2019. The match started off with Goldberg concussing himself in the locker room by headbutting a locker, causing his head to bleed before he even got foot in the ring.

It went from bad to worse once the bell rang. Both men struggled in the intense heat. There were botches galore, as both men dropped the other on their head and Goldberg nearly hurt The Undertaker with his Jackhammer

Speaking on his Six Feet Under Podcast, The Undertaker spoke about his match with Goldberg. He thought it was great working with somebody he’d never wrestled before, but he blamed the Saudi heat on why the match went pear-shaped.

“He’s wound a little tight sometimes, but he’s a good dude. Yeah, no, he is. He was just kind of thrust into something, and you can’t blame him for that. They created him, and it was a huge deal.” The Undertaker said.

“But yeah, that Saudi thing… that was a little ugly. My mindset going into the whole thing was, at this point in my career, how often do you get to do something you’ve never done? I’ve worked with everybody over the last 30-plus years, but I had never worked with Bill.”

“So in that aspect, it was a first. Yeah, that was the first time—our one and only singles match. Oh, wow. I mean, I think we did something in a Rumble or whatever, but that doesn’t really count. A singles match, though—that was the only one.”

“And man, I stunk the joint out.” The Undertaker added. “It was 9:00 at night, 98 degrees outside… you could chew the air, it was so thick.”
