Jey Uso pulled back the curtain on what John Cena told him after he won the Royal Rumble.
The former WWE Intercontinental Champion shocked the world last week by beating 29 other men to win the 2025 Royal Rumble match. He last eliminated John Cena, who was gunning for his final WrestleMania main event as he prepares to end his in-ring wrestling career in 2025. After the match, the pair hugged in the ring and shared a few words.
Speaking on Nightcap, Jey Uso spoke about his moment with John Cena following the 2025 Royal Rumble match. He revealed that the 16-time WWE Champion told him that he knew Jey Uso, and his brother Jimmy, would be fine as singles stars one day, all the way back on their first tour with the WWE 15 years ago.
“He’s going into the Elimination Chamber—I think it’s on March 1, maybe. That’s his last chance to kind of main event WrestleMania. And we’re in Toronto, Canada… you know, I hope he gets it, man.” Jey Uso said about John Cena.
“But I will say some real shit. He came in the ring. If you watch it back, he did come in the ring. After I thought I was about to damn do it again, throw his ass out one more time! But he came in, and he said—he hugged me—and he goes, ‘Hey, I remember your first tour. I always told you and your brother, you guys will be fine. Be yourself.’”
“And then he goes, ‘Look at these people now.’ That’s when he turned me to the crowd, and man… they were just hitting it. So yeah, man—love, love for John Cena. He’s the GOAT.” added Jey Uso.
