The ring boy lawsuit against WWE and the McMahons will continue.
In October 2023, DiCello Levitt and Murphy, Falcon & Murphy announced that, on behalf of five individuals, they had filed a lawsuit against WWE, Vince McMahon and Linda McMahon, and TKO. The suit alleges that the individuals, who are former ring boys who worked for WWE, were sexually abused during their time in WWE, and the company did nothing to prevent or stop the abuse by announcer Melvin Phillips Jr. The suit alleges that the “Ring Boys were groomed, exploited, and sexually abused by Phillips, who targeted children from broken homes,” and that WWE knew about the abuse.
The Maryland Supreme Court ruled that the Child Victims Act of 2023 is constitutional, and they upheld the act with a 4-3 vote. As a result, the time limits for filing lawsuits about child sexual abuse. As a result, the ring boys lawsuit will continue, as it had been put on pause in December pending the court ruling. If the Child Victims Act of 2023 was ruled unconstitutional, the lawsuit could not move forward.
Vince McMahons attorney previously denied the aforementioned allegations and said that McMahon’s legal team would defend him vigorously.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
