After a Royal Rumble highlight package, Jey Uso appears in the arena and tells the truck to play his music. The crowd erupts as the 2025 Royal Rumble winner makes his way to the ring via the crowd.

Main Event Jey Uso is Now in your City

The crowd yeets all over themselves. Jey catches his breath in the ring as the crowd chants, “One more time!” Jey tells the truck to play his music. The crowd yeets along with Jey one more time. The crowd showers Jey with adulation to the point he can’t get a word out. An emotional Jey thanks the crowd. Jey says he doesn’t even know what to say. The crowd yeets at Jey. Jey says besides that. Jey talks about being a tag team and carrying his family’s legacy, his struggles with his confidence, and how he didn’t have “it” in him to be a singles star before. But tonight? He’s got “it.” Jey starts to cry as he thanks everyone in the crowd.

Jey yeets and says it’s just him in the main event of WrestleMania. World Heavyweight Champion Gunther interrupts. Gunther says he would offer his congratulations, but for what? This possible match doesn’t appeal to him. Gunther says they need to be honest, Jey can’t lace his boots. Gunther says he is always in control. The crowd boos as Gunther announces he refuses to do this with Jey again. Gunther is trying to build a legacy, but beating Jey adds nothing to it. Beating John Cena or CM Punk would have. Gunther tells Jey that if he chooses him every week leading up to WrestleMania, it will be hell.

Gunther promises to put Jey down like a diseased dog. The good thing here is that Jey has options, so Gunther tells Jey he will do well to explore them. Gunther starts to walk away. Jey tells Gunther to hold up. Jey says he’s tired of everyone telling him what he’s not supposed to be. He says he’s going to go to SmackDown and holler at WWE Cody Rhodes, and then he’ll make his decision. No matter who Jey picks, he’s walking in as the 2025 Royal Rumble and walking out as the champion.

Grade: A

Jey Uso just delivered a Dusty Rhodes-level baby-face promo. This writer had no desire to watch Jey face Gunther again before this promo. With Jey’s tears and Gunther’s cutting words, it may mean they have something special baking for us.

Ludwig Kaiser vs. Penta

Penta starts hot with a rana, but gets stopped after Kaiser counters a headstand in the corner with a boot to Penta’s face. Kaiser spends time working over Penta. Penta fires up and lands his headstand dropkick. Kaiser and Penta trade strikes. Penta lands a dive after being back-dropped over the top. Penta snaps Kaiser’s arm back with the Sacrifice. Kaiser gets to his feet and walks into the Penta Driver for the win.

Winner- Penta

After the match, Pete Dunne interrupts Penta as he’s giving an interview in the ring. Kaiser attacks Penta from behind as Dunne walks to the ring. Kaiser leaves Penta laid out after a DreamDT.

Grade: B

Good TV match. Penta has been putting on stellar matches since debuting in WWE. To be fair, Penta has also had great dance partners to this point. Penta’s upcoming feud with Bron Breakker over the IC title is going to put butts in seats.

The Queen has Arrived!

2025 Royal Rumble Winner Charlotte Flair says hello to the crowd, which is booing her mercilessly. Flair notes that this last year was hell, and the boos would have bothered her in the past, but it doesn’t now. Flair loves the WWE Universe, whether they are booing or wooing. Rhea Ripley interrupts. Flair says she was trying to have a moment with Cleveland but says hello to Mami. Ripley says this is her show. Ripley notes that she respects her and begs Flair to pick her. The last time they fought at WrestleMania, Ripley beat Flair.

Flair reminds Ripley that the first time they fought, Flair won. Ripley says that back then, she was just a kid. Flair says Ripley jumped the gone because she’s got nothing but time. Tomorrow, Flair is going to go to NXT and take a look at Women’s Champion Giulia, and then on Friday, Flair will go see if WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton inspires her. Flair is looking to be inspired, and Ripley jumping the gun shows Flair that Ripley is still just a kid. Ripley says Flair calling her a kid shows that Flair doesn’t respect her like Ripley respects Flair. Ripley begs Flair to pick her again so Ripley can beat the respect into Flair.

Grade: B

Flair started off a bit shakey, but she recovered despite the crowd trying hard to derail the segment. Flair masterfully used the crowd’s hate to make her point. Ripley begging Flair to pick her is exactly what happened the first time they faced each other at WrestleMania. Maybe WWE forgot some of us have a long memory.

Backstage, IYO SKY tells Ripley she will see her at WrestleMania. SKY walks away and gets attacked by Liv Morgan. Ripley chases Morgan off. Morgan’s bodyguard attacks Ripley from behind.

The New Day vs. LWO (Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee)

Lee and Mysterio are in control early. Woods and Kingston take control after trapping Mysterio in the corner. Mid-way through the match, Logan Paul walks down the ramp. Paul will face Mysterio next week in a chamber qualifier. Due to the distraction, The New Day cuts off a flurry from Mysterio.

Mysterio surprises Kingston with a senton off the apron. Paul who is hovering at ringside, gets in Mysterio’s face. Mysterio pushes Paul back into his chair. Lee sends Woods flying off the apron with a leaping rana. As the referee is distracted, Paul pulls Mysterio out of the ring. Kingston lands Trouble in Paradise for the win.

Winners- The New Day

Grade: B-

Good match. Paul interference came out of left field and didn’t seem out of place. During this match, they surved a long-standing feud between Mysterio and the New Day and kickstarted an angle heading into Mysterio’s qualifying match against Paul next week. Good stuff.

Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match: IYO SKY vs. Liv Morgan w/Raquel Rodriguez

The fight starts outside the ring. SKY is all over Morgan. Morgan takes control after a cheap shot. Morgan works over SKY. SKY fires up and lands a missile dropkick. Roll through double stomp by SKY. Morgan kicks out. SKY goes up top for her finish.

After a distraction from Morgan’s bodyguard, Morgan takes over again. The fight spills out of the ring. SKY lands a German suplex out on the floor. Asai moonsault by SKY. SKY leaps off the top into a code breaker from Morgan. SKY kicks out. Ripley runs down to ringside and attacks Morgan’s bodyguard. Ripley decks Morgan, causing a disqualification.

Winner- Liv Morgan

After the match, SKY gets in Ripley’s face. Ripley tries to explain. SKY storms off.

Grade: B

Good match. Morgan’s bodyguard was in the way, but thankfully taken out by Ripley. It will be interesting to see where this story between SKY and Ripley goes. Is there a heel turn in the works for SKY?

Backstage, Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker tells Raw GM Adam Pearce he’s tired of waiting and needs a challenge. Breakker wants to speak to Pearce now. Pearce begrudgingly agrees.

Seth Rollins Speaks

Seth Rollins comes to the ring dressed like a cowboy who died and took over for Death. Rollins puts over Jey Uso and his Royal Rumble victory. Rollins dumps on CM Punk for losing Royal Rumble and being eliminated by Logan Paul. He gloats about Roman Reigns getting tossed over the top last week. Rollins says the reason Reigns is out indefinitely is because of him. After noting that he also didn’t win the Royal Rumble, Rollins exclaims he has another path: the Elimination Chamber.

He’ll take care of his business during his qualifying match against Finn Bálor, but Rollins wants to talk to Sami Zayn tonight. Zayn joins Rollins in the ring. Rollins gave Zayn a motivational speech ahead of Zayn’s match against CM Punk tonight. As Rollins is walking up the ramp, CM Punk makes his entrance. Referees and officials separate both men before they can get their hands on each other.

Grade: C+

As far as motivational speeches go, this was lacking. Rollins generally cuts a good promo, but the punchlines didn’t hit in the manner they usually do. Also, you’d think Rollins would want Punk in the Chamber just so he can be the reason Punk doesn’t get to the main event of WrestleMania.

Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match: CM Punk vs. Sami Zayn

Punk works over Zayn’s arm. Zayn fires back. Zayn cuts Punk off as he goes up top. Superplex by Zayn. Punk kicks out. Tornado DDT by Zayn. Punk kicks out again. Zayn works over Punk. After a series of reversals, Punk lands a head kick. Punk eats a blue thunder bomb after Zayn counters a running bulldog. Kick out by Punk. Punk misses a spear in the corner. Zayn misses a Helluva Kick. Punk traps Zayn in the anaconda vice.

Zayn gets to the ropes. Punk mocks Zayn, saying WrestleMania is for him. Zayn counters a whip and tries a surprise Helluva Kick. Punk avoids it, and Zayn crashes into the corner. Punk tries the GTS. Zayn reverses it into a small package. Punk kicks out at 2.9. After a series of counters, Zayn sends Punk into the corner with an exploder. Zayn sets up the Helluva Kick. Punk counters with the GTS for the win.

Winner- CM Punk

After the match, Punk points at the WrestleMania sign. Punk offers Zayn a handshake. Zayn accepts. Kevin Owens appears and pushes Zayn into Punk, knocking him out of the ring. Owens beats down Zayn and hits a Package Piledriver. Zayn isn’t moving. Owens is still bloody and bruised from his ladder match with Cody Rhodes at the Royal Rumble.

Grade: B

This one started off slow but picked up towards the end. The Helluva Kick false finish was a particularly amazing choice that came off so well that this writer thought Zayn was going to win. That’s the beauty of watching masters work. Also, we just got the set up for a Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens singles match at WrestleMania. Amazing stuff.

WWE Raw Review

Tonight’s show featured good character developments and solid storylines coming out of the big Royal Rumble PLE. The standout moments included Jey Uso’s heartfelt promo, CM Punk vs. Sami Zayn’s hard-fought Elimination Chamber qualifier, and intriguing character development for stars like Gunther, Charlotte Flair, and Seth Rollins. The cherry on the top being the set up for the Sami Zayn/Kevin Owens WrestleMania match.
