AEW Collision Results:

This week’s episode of AEW Collision kicks off with tag team action as HOOK and Samoa Joe take on Kip Sabian and Nick Wayne of The Patriarchy.

Samoa Joe and HOOK vs. Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian (w/ Christian Cage & Mother Wayne)

  • The finish of the match saw Samoa Joe hit Kip Sabian with a Muscle Buster to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: Samoa Joe and HOOK

After the match, Christian Cage attacks Samoa Joe and HOOK with his metal contract container, laying out both men alongside The Patriarchy.

Grade: B

It was a fine match to kick off the show. Nothing great, but nothing terrible, either. It was just kind of there.

Cope calls Moxley out on his actions

The Rated R Superstar Cope is backstage. Cope cuts a promo on Jon Moxley and challenges him to a match for the AEW World Championship next month at Revolution.

The Beast Mortos vs. Adam Priest

  • The finish of the match saw The Beast Mortos hit Adam Priest with Destination Hellhole to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: The Beast Mortos

Grade: N/A

Squash match, moving on…

Open Challenge: Max Caster vs. RUSH (w. Dralistico)

  • RUSH hit Max Caster with The Horns to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: RUSH

After the match, RUSH cut a promo on The Beast Mortos, reminding them that they are family.

Grade: A

I don’t typically grade squash matches, but when I do… it’s because Max Caster got destroyed on television. Good job, RUSH!

The Outrunners are backstage with Lexy Nair. The duo cut a promo on The Learning Tree, hyping up their tag match coming up next.

The Outrunners vs. The Learning Tree (w/ Big Bill)

  • The finish of the match saw Bryan Keith catch Turbo Floyd with a small package to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: The Learning Tree

After the match, The Learning Tree continued to attack The Outrunners until Bandido made his return and evened the odds for Magnum and Floyd. Bandido takes out The Learning Tree all by himself and press slams Bryan Keith through a table.

Grade: B-

Happy to see that Bandido’s second return went much better than the last one. The return at Final Battle that resulted in a concussion was very disappointing. Hopefully, this time, he can get some momentum off of this. Clearly, he’s the next challenger for Jericho’s Ring of Honor World Championship.

Kazuchika Okada continues to duck Buddy Matthews

Kazuchika Okada is backstage and is once again confronted by Buddy Matthews. Matthews asks for a shot at the Continental Championship and Okada says he doesn’t deserve it. Matthews says that means Okada is still a bitch. Okada insists he’s no bitch.

Taya Valkyrie vs. Harley Cameron

  • The finish of the match saw Harley Cameron catch Taya Valkyrie with a surprise rollup to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Harley Cameron

Backstage, Deonna Purrazzo has a fit and throws a chair.

Grade: B+

Very fun match. Harley Cameron got a big win, and that will probably set the stage for her getting a match against Mercedes Mone at Grand Slam later this month.

A sitdown interview with Ricochet

Renee Paquette has a sit-down interview with Ricochet backstage. Ricochet says people have said for years that he belonged here and he agreed with him, but now that he’s here people have turned their backs on him. Ricochet says his actions against Swerve Strickland were not just for him, but for everyone in the audience who turned on him.

Strickland comes in and takes Paquette’s seat and says he wants to talk so much, let’s talk. Swerve says Riochet pretending to be a superhero is why people turned on him. Strickland says next week is going to be a fight and Ricochet can’t win in a fight.

Ricochet says he’s not good at acting or cutting a promo, and he doesn’t care what the fans think about him and he never will. Ricochet claims Strickland hasn’t been the same since his rivalry with Hangman and Swerve puts the scissors to Ricochet’s throat before backing down and telling him that he’ll see him in Atlanta next week.

A Timeless promo from Toni Storm

Timeless Toni Storm comes out on the stage under the spotlight and explains how she rebuilt herself to get back to Mariah May. Storm calls her a bitch and says May’s time is over.

A video package plays showcasing the history of Christopher Daniels’ career.

Did Harley Cameron do enough to get a match at Grand Slam?

Harley Cameron is backstage with Renee Paquette in front of Mercedes Mone’s locker room. Cameron introduces a Mercedes puppet who says she wants to give her a match at Grand Slam. The real Mercedes shows up and tells her she’s still a loser, and losers don’t get to ride the Mone Train. Mercedes tells her to get away from her locker room.

AEW TNT Championship: Daniel Garcia (c) vs. Kyle O’Reilly vs. Lee Moriarty (w/ Shane Taylor)

  • The finish of the match saw Daniel Garcia catch Lee Moriarty with the jackknife pin to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: And still TNT Champion, Daniel Garcia

After the match, Garcia and O’Reilly have a face-off and end up being surrounded by Shane Taylor Promotions. Daddy Magic, Cool Hand Ang, Adam Cole, and Roderick Strong hit the ring to even the odds and chase off STP.

Grade: A-

Great three-way match, but I gotta admit that I’m really getting tired of Garcia winning all of his title defenses with the jackknife pin. Let the man get some definitive wins. Winning that way over and over again makes those wins seem like flukes.

A video package plays for Hologram, who will be returning to AEW soon.

Megan Bayne vs. Hyena Hera

  • The finish of the match saw Megan Bayne hit Hyena Hera with an F5 to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Megan Bayne

Grade: N/A

Quick squash match, but fun nonetheless.

Apology… not accepted?

Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale are backstage with Lexy Nair. Statlander admits the two have had their share of good and bad times and attempts to apologize to Willow. Nightingale says she needs to focus on her right now. Statlander reveals a friendship bracelet Willow gave her in the past and says it was never broken before walking away.

Mid-South Street Fight: FTR vs. Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta

  • The finish of the match saw Jay White and Cope get involved. FTR hit the Spike Piledriver on Wheeler Yuta through the commentator table to score the pinfall victory at ringside.

Winners: FTR

After the match, Moxley eats a Shatter Machine and a spear from Rated FTR. Jay White tries to set him up for a Conchairto but Castagnoli pulls Moxley out.

Grade: A-

The Death Riders carry Mox out of the arena as AEW Collision goes off the air.

AEW Collision Review:

After last week’s great episode, you can kinda tell AEW punted this week against the Royal Rumble. The show was fine and there wasn’t anything necessarily bad, but it was a very missable episode which is a bummer after the great show we got last week.

Grade: B
