Saraya Confirms AEW Contract Is Up In September, Wants A Match With Mercedes Moné

Saraya isn’t sure how long her AEW tenure will be, but she does have one opponent in mind.

TMZ caught up with Saraya and asked about when she will return to AEW TV. Saraya has not competed since the October 8, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite, but says the company is just waiting for the right way to bring her back into the fold.

“I don’t know [when I’ll be back on TV]. I’m ready to go now,” she said. “It’s just trying to find the best way to introduce me again. Which I think — I’d love to go against Mercedes [Moné], I think that’s important. She ‘ended my career’ in a way, it’s wrestling, it happens. But I feel like it would be really great to face her.”

Saraya was then asked if she would return to WWE. She said she’s open to it, and perhaps it might happen in the future.

“Yeah, I love WWE. I appreciate everybody there. They made me, they gave me my career and I’m just appreciative of that. One day, who knows. I love my time in AEW though.”

The interviewer asked if one day was closer than we think. Saraya then revealed when her AEW contract expires, but teased staying with the promotion as an option.

“Well, my contract with AEW is up in September,” Saraya shared. “So maybe I’ll stay with them, maybe not. I don’t know.”

Fightful (via Fightful Select) previously reported that Saraya signed a new one-year contract in September. In November, Saraya said she was taking a break from AEW and revealed that she’d filmed content for Catfish.

Earlier this month, the former AEW Women’s Champion responded to a troll and said that she requested time off for personal reasons, adding that Tony Khan was gracious enough to grant the request.
