WWE Hall of Fame Booker T addresses Corey Graves‘ controversial tweet and says he had an issue with them.
Graves sparked plenty of controversy with a since-deleted tweet in which he implied that he was not famous enough for his job. This came after he was moved to NXT commentary alongside Pat McAfee’s return to RAW and Joe Tessitore’s shift to SmackDown. Graves was absent from the January 14th episode of NXT, but he returned the following week.
Booker T shared his thoughts on the situation on his The Hall of Fame podcast, as he highlighted how there was a downside to social media.
“Certain things, I don’t know, shouldn’t be in the Twittersphere, just because I don’t think it’s their business, especially when it come to your jobs.” Booker T said. “Everybody want to put their lives on Twitter with their followers and everybody to be a part of their lives. I don’t know, I don’t get that part right there. For me, I’m so glad I’m so disconnected from that stage of life.”
He then brought up Graves by saying that they “weren’t cool”, though he noted that he had not talked to Graves about it.
“We’re not cool, not cool at all — I didn’t like the tweet … I didn’t tell him I didn’t like it, but I’m sure there perhaps will come a time when I might say it … he wasn’t talking to me, wasn’t talking about me, so therefore that’s out of my pay rate you know what I mean? So I let the bosses handle that stuff.” (H/t Wrestling Inc. for the transcription)
