WWE is reportedly aiming to hold a taping of NXT in New York City.
The January 28th taping of WWE NXT was held at Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia. NXT will hit the road again in February for a special show in Cincinnati. According to a new report, the company wants to take NXT to New York City.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that WWE NXT is seeking to hold a taping in New York City in March. Specifically, the proposed date is Tuesday, March 11th, at The Theater in Madison Square Garden. This would be the day after WWE RAW at Madison Square Garden.
The Theater in Madison Square Garden has held several wrestling events over the years. If WWE runs the venue, this would mark the first time will hold a NXT broadcast there. Johnson also writes that there has been talk of an NXT taping in Nashville as well.
Update On NXT’s Schedule
Corey Brennan of Fightful (via Fightful Select) has also reported an update about NXT’s taping schedule. Since NXT started holding shows on the road for occasional tapings in October, fans have questioned the plans for more tapings outside of the WWE Performance Center.
Per Brennan, NXT sources said that two tapings are expected to be held on the road every month, and the remaining weeks will be taped at the Performance Center. The report notes that it’s unclear if this is the long-term plan or if this will change, but sources indicated that they could see more dates outside of Florida in the future.
