Jeff Jarrett Wants To See Christopher Daniels Have A Better Send-Off

Jeff Jarrett says Christopher Daniels should have a better send-off.

Daniels, 54, lost a Texas Death Match against “Hangman” Adam Page at AEW Collision: Maximum Carnage. On the following episode of AEW Dynamite, he confirmed that the bout marked his last match. Fightful Select had reported that the match with Page was planned to mark Daniels’ retirement from in-ring competition, ending a decorated career that previously included runs in TNA and ROH.

On a recent episode of his My World podcast, Jeff Jarrett commented on Daniels’ retirement.

“I got the text and I’ll leave it nameless because that would be exposing somebody,” Jeff Jarrett said. “It said, ‘Hey, did you know that was Chris’ last match?’ I text, ‘Why? Does it have to be?’ That caught me off guard. If Chris, if this is his decision and if this is Chris’s call, cool. But man, do you know how many people that get into this business today or have over the last [30 years]? Not many people get to have the career of a Christopher Daniels. If this really is calling it a career, I’d certainly — I think the business, I’m gonna tell Chris this, I think the business deserves maybe a strong word.

“If he’s done, my god, look what he’s done — let’s give him a little bit better send off. I’m not saying go out to California and rent a venue and you know, Chris Daniels last match, I’m not saying all that, but I’m just saying, hey man, let’s kind of give him a send off because to me, TNA day one [guy] in a lot of ways. I know Ring Of Honor as well. But the independent grind that Chris put himself through is very respectful and then AEW. I’d like to see Chris have a better send off it he would so accept. That’s truly how I feel.” (H/t Fightful for the transcription)

Daniels continues to work behind the scenes in AEW, as he has been their Head of Talent Relations.
