Colonel DeBeers Passes Away

Ed Wiskowski, also known as Colonel DeBeers and The Polish Prince, has passed away at the age of 80.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer shared the news on Twitter.

The Cauliflower Alley Club also paid tribute to DeBeers on Twitter. Wiskowski was previously honored at a Cauliflower Alley Reunion with a Men’s Wrestling Award in 2004.

DeBeers started wrestling in 1972, and he was trained by Harley Race, among others. He had a prominent run in the AWA, and he also wrestled for Big Time Wrestling in San Francisco, Central States Wrestling, NWA Tri-State, and Pacific Northwest Wrestling; he won various titles in the promotions.

DeBeers was a two-time NWA Pacific Northwest Heavyweight Champion and a five-time NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Champion. DeBeers feuded with Scott Hall and Jimmy Snuka during his AWA run.
