Jey Uso remains determined to win a world title following his loss at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Uso challenged Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. Gunther ultimately emerged victorious, as he pinned Uso to retain the title.
In a post on Instagram, WWE shared a clip of Jey Uso walking backstage after his loss. He noted that he lost the bout, but he was setting his sights on winning the Royal Rumble.
“I just lost the match for the World Championship,” he said. “Next move for Jey Uso, man, I gotta win the Royal Rumble now, Uce.”
Uso has unsuccessfully chased the World Heavyweight Championship multiple times during his singles run on WWE RAW. He lost to Damian Priest in a title match at WWE Backlash in May 2024. Uso also came up short in the King of the Ring tournament and the Money in the Bank match. He had a brief run with the WWE Intercontinental Championship, but The Bloodline cost him the gold.
Jey Uso Aims To Win The Big One
Uso previously made it clear that he intends to win a world title. In an interview with Peter Rosenberg for Cheap Heat at ComplexCon, Jey Uso commented on winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
“Yeah man, it just puts a stamp on you,” Uso said. “If you’re a wrestler, you want to hold a damn WWE Championship one time, a World Heavyweight Championship one time. I want to hold that shit. I ain’t ever thought about being a champion like that until I got the IC Title man, until ‘24 popped off the way it did, it built my confidence. It made me believe, hell yeah, I could be the face, Uce.”
“Yeah, I want the [world] title. I’ll take it off of anybody, just give me the shot,” Uso said. “Gunther, whoever it is, Cody Rhodes, we can run it. I’m telling you, I’m gonna get the big one. No one believes that, just like that doubted me the whole time. It’s all good, I’m used to that. It’s just fuel to the fire. But I’m gonna get that, I’m gonna get it. I’m putting it out there right now.”
