#DIY will defend the gold at WWE Royal Rumble.
On the January 24th episode of WWE SmackDown, the Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) distracted Johnny Gargano and cost him his match with Apollo Crews.
Backstage, the Motor City Machine Guns told Gargano and his #DIY tag team partner that they would face them in a 2-out-of-3 Falls match for the WWE Tag Team Championship at WWE Royal Rumble. This will be the Motor City Machine Guns’ WWE PLE debut.
#DIY beat the Motor City Machine Guns to win the titles on the December 6th episode of WWE SmackDown. Sabin and Shelley beat Los Garza (Berto and Angel) on the January 17th episode to earn a title shot.
