Matt Hardy is confident that The Hardys will cross over to WWE as part of the company’s partnership with TNA.
Since WWE and TNA announced a multi-year partnership on January 16th, fans have continued to buzz about potential crossover matches. Matt Hardy has previously expressed his interest in returning to WWE, given the relationship between the two companies.
Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the veteran was asked about potentially crossing over to NXT as part of the partnership.
“In the extreme life of Matt Hardy, never say never, anything can happen,” he said. “I will say, I’ll make a bold prediction. I’m going to agree with your good prediction. I think before it’s all said and done, we will wrestle a match in the WWE before the end of the year.”
Matt Hardy On Potential WWE Match
Hardy was then asked to explain what was appealing to him and Jeff Hardy about potentially crossing over to NXT.
“What’s important to both Jeff and I is solidifying our legacy, cementing our legacy as one of the greatest teams to ever do this,” Matt Hardy said. “We both feel great, we’re both in great health. We’re coming out, one of the loudest reactions every single night, it’s like rockstars, it’s a rock concert, it’s been great. We’ve just been put in a position to succeed, and TNA has laid out the perfect blueprint for how to use Matt and Jeff Hardy. Right now, I feel like our story is trying to show that we’re back, that it’s not that we were great, it’s that we are great.
“That’s what we’re proving week in and week out. We’re gonna get to something, I’m sure, before it’s all said and done, and sink our teeth into it and there’s gonna be some obstacle that we need to overcome. But we are proving week in and week out that we are great. The Hardys are yesterday, we are today, and we’re gonna be tomorrow. Who knows? Tomorrow might end up being an NXT debut for The Hardys, could end up being a WWE return of The Hardys. Who knows? Anything is possible, especially with this new partnership. Anything is now possible in the extreme life of Matt and Jeff Hardy.”
The Hardys are the reigning TNA World Tag Team Champions. They defended the titles against The Rascalz at TNA Genesis.
