Mustafa Ali is back in TNA and reveals he has signed with the company full-time.
The former X Division Champion originally joined TNA in 2024, following his release from the WWE. Mustafa Ali won the title upon his debut at No Surrender, eventually losing the belt to “Speedball” Mike Bailey.
He left the company after failing to win the TNA World title from Nic Nemeth in August. While many assumed this was the end for him, his appearance on last night’s TNA said differently.
During a segment with Mike Santana in the ring, Mustafa Ali interrupted to make his return to TNA. He seemed to be continuing his politician gimmick. The former WWE star said there is work to be done and TNA needs great leadership and he’s that great leader.
He went on to reveal his ambition to become TNA World Heavyweight Champion, wanting to give people something to believe in.
“Settle down children. I am here to officially announce that I, Mustafa Ali, have signed with TNA Wrestling,” Mustafa Ali told the crowd on last night’s TNA Impact.
“But folks, there is work to be done. TNA needs great leadership and I am that great leader. I want to give all of you something truly to believe. So, ladies and gentlemen, I am launching a campaign. I campaign where I become the next World Heavyweight Champion.”
TNA’s newest signing will have to face Joe Hendry if he wants to get his hands on the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Mustafa Ali On A Potential WWE Return
Mustafa Ali thinks there are multiple paths to a potential WWE return.
Ali had a memorable WWE run. He was featured on WWE 205 Live, and he later moved to the main roster. Ali notably was revealed as the leader of Retribution. He also had a brief run in NXT before he was released in September 2023. Since his release, he had a stint in TNA, and he has wrestled for various companies, including NJPW.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Mustafa Ali was asked about potentially returning to WWE.
“I think there’s multiple paths, yeah,” Mustafa Ali said. “And the thing is there’s good relations there. The thing with them moving to Netflix is very, very interesting, because it just opens things. I don’t know how much the show is going to change as far as dynamic, as far as rating, as far as what they’re okay with.”
