A new report provides an update on Jeff Jarrett chasing the AEW World Championship.
Jarrett, 57, announced that he had signed his last talent contract at AEW Dynamite: Fight For The Fallen. He stated that he wanted to win the AEW World Championship, and he has been trying to do so ever since. In recent weeks, Jarrett has also started feuding with former world champion MJF.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reported that Jeff Jarrett has never been planned to win the AEW World Championship. Sapp writes that Jarrett was instrumental in pitching the program with MJF. The report notes that their feud is expected to go on until AEW Revolution, but it was originally planned for much longer.
Jarrett called AEW World Champion Jon Moxley out on the January 22nd episode of AEW Dynamite. He will face Claudio Castagnoli on the January 29th episode, and if he wins, he will earn a title shot.
Jeff Jarrett On Creative Input
Jarrett recently appeared on The Bobby Bones Show, and he was asked to comment on how much input he had on his creative in AEW.
“Very little,” Jeff Jarrett admitted. “And that’s been an adjustment, good and bad, because I don’t have the responsibility. It is a full-time non-stop juggling act, but I have little to no real input. I can [offer] little tweaks here and there. But for the most part, it’s not my ball of wax.”
