Jeff Jarrett continued to target the AEW World Championship on the January 22nd episode of AEW Dynamite.
“The Last Outlaw” came to the ring on Wednesday’s show and addressed his heated confrontation with MJF at AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage, where they took several shots at each other. He vowed to take MJF out to the woodshed and give him a beating someday. He then highlighted how the fans reinvigorated him.
Jarrett went on to discuss his goal to become the AEW World Champion. He called out reigning champion Jon Moxley, but Moxley’s stablemate Claudio Castagnoli attacked him. Castagnoli said that nobody got to Moxley without going through him first. Jarrett got back up and said Castagnoli would need to do more than that to stop him. He challenged Castagnoli to a match on the January 29th episode of AEW Dynamite and said that if he won, he would get his title shot.
Castagnoli accepted the challenge, as he said that the prospect of beating Jarrett lifeless was interesting.
The broadcast team later confirmed the match for the January 29th episode of AEW Dynamite.
