Sheamus wants to wrestle a former foe one more time.
Last week, WWE and TNA announced an official partnership that will carry forth for multiple years. Through it, stars from TNA and WWE NXT can continue to make crossover appearances. Of course, there is still intrigue for WWE’s main roster talents to potentially do the same as well. During a recent interview with The Ringer Wrestling Show, WWE Raw star Sheamus pointed to a performer he’d like to face from TNA.
“I loved working Ziggy,” Sheamus said in reference to Nic Nemeth (formerly Dolph Ziggler in WWE). “Ziggy was great. I don’t think he has the fondest memories of working me, taking all those Brogue Kicks. I don’t think anyone took a finish as good as Ziggy. He’s great.”
“… Our history goes back all the way to 20 years ago, when we got in the ring, didn’t know what we were doing, to have a match,” Sheamus continued. “[He’s] another person who puts on a great performance all the time. Never the biggest, but when it came to storytelling, he was great. He was so much fun to work. Dolph is so easy.”
Like Sheamus, Nemeth is a former world champion of WWE. Right now, though, he resides in TNA Wrestling, most recently losing the TNA World Championship to Joe Hendry at TNA Genesis. The former Dolph Ziggler previously pondered the idea of returning to WWE. Nemeth noted that while he had no unfinished business in NXT, the idea of surprises excited of him.
