The memory of Jax Dane lives on through NWA Powerrr.
Last month, the National Wrestling Alliance delivered the unfortunate news that former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Jax Dane had passed away at the age of 48. Sometime before his death, Dane competed in a tag match, which pitted him and Baron Von Storm (aka Tim Storm) against NWA National Champion Mims and BLK Jeez. Per the NWA, that match will now air on this week’s episode of NWA Powerrr. The promotion also cited it as Dane’s last documented in-ring performance.
“This will be a very emotional broadcast for everyone viewing,” said Joe Galli, NWA Chief Operating Officer. “Jax Dane was such a cornerstone of the National Wrestling Alliance, a truly beloved figure among fans and in the locker room. this episode of NWA Powerrr is going to hit differently for all of us. It is an opportunity to come together and celebrate Jax’s career and last on-camera appearance with the National Wrestling Alliance.”
Initially, Dane and Storm vs. Mims and Jeez had potential future title implications. In the wake of Dane’s death, however, it comes as a reminder of Dane’s legacy as well as his special bond with Storm.
“He was my brother,” Storm said of Dane. “We had over 100 matches together and against each other. I’ve never been hit harder by any opponent.”
Elsewhere on NWA Powerrr, Colby Corino and Joe Ocasio will take on “Magic” Jake Dumas and Zyon. NWA World Heavyweight Champion Thom Latimer will also be non-title action.
NWA Powerrr streams worldwide every Tuesday night at 6:05pm EST on NWA’s X (formerly Twitter) account,
