Hulk Hogan won’t let a suit hold him down.
Hogan appeared on the FOX News broadcast of the Presidential Liberty Ball on Monday night. Hogan previously teased appearing at President Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony. Instead, he dropped in to speak with FOX News’ Jesse Watters. Hulk ranted about the state of the country and felt like people didn’t recognize him because of his suit, so he ripped it off just in case anyone mistook him for another 6’6” tanned ex-wrestler with bleached blonde hair.
“You know, Jesse, this suit is holding me down, just like that four-year [Biden] administration! The lies, the cheating, all that stuff going on. I feel like the veil has been lifted and the dark cloud — if I wasn’t so tired, I’d rip all my clothes off!”
Hulk Hogan proceeded to rip his clothes off to Boston’s “More Than A Feeling” as he screamed about lower gas prices and secure borders.
“I had a moment, brother! I just had to do that,” Hogan proclaimed.
Did you really have to do it, though?
Booker T on Hulk Hogan
Hulk Hogan’s reception on FOX News was a bit better than the one he received at WWE RAW in Los Angeles. Hogan was booed heavily by the WWE Universe, something Booker T doesn’t blame the fans for doing.
“One thing about fans, heel or babyface, I think fans know what we’re doing here,” Booker said on his Hall of Fame Podcast. “At the end of the day, they normally respect you for what you’ve done inside the ring, unless you’ve turned them off to the point to where it’s good heat, then it’s go-away heat. Maybe he’s created a lot of that go-away heat with a lot of people. I don’t know.
“It’s hard watching this Hulk Hogan compared to the Hulk Hogan that we watched in the ‘80s. It really is. It’s a totally different person that we’re watching. You say you put on the red and yellow, you’re the same person. No, you’re not [laughs]. It’s hard to look at people, especially these days with social media, everybody has an opinion, and today’s opinion is voiced very, very loudly. And we got a chance to see it in real time.
“I think that’s what that was. To see where that dude is, it’s a fall from grace, it truly is. What was the lynchpin to make it all happen and make all those fans feel that way? It could be a multitude of things, man. But I tell you what man, I wouldn’t want to be that guy. I really wouldn’t.”
Booker T went on to say that Hulk Hogan put himself in this position, so he understood why fans feel the way they do about him. Mark Henry also wasn’t shocked that Hogan was booed, noting that Hogan never tried to fix his problems and ignored them.
