ROH Supercard Of Honor might not continue as the annual WrestleMania week tradition that fans are accustomed to.
Supercard Of Honor is one of Ring Of Honor’s biggest events of the year. The event typically occurs on the same weekend and in the same city as WWE’s WrestleMania. (The main exceptions have been the 2010 and 2011 events, which took place in May.)
A Las Vegas source informed WrestleZone that ROH Supercard Of Honor 2025 was originally scheduled to take place in Las Vegas during WrestleMania 41 weekend. Additionally, AEW had a venue worked out. However, those plans are off, and new plans for the event are up in the air.
It was relayed that AEW had been working with a venue near Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas that had been picked for the ROH event. Despite this, AEW recently nixed plans to use that facility. The reason for AEW changing course was not communicated.
It was stressed that Supercard Of Honor could still happen somewhere else and on a different date. However, as of now, the event won’t happen in downtown Las Vegas in April.
AEW is also considering moving Double Or Nothing out of Las Vegas
AEW has hosted events at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Mandalay Bay Events Center, and T-Mobile Arena. Double Or Nothing was in Las Vegas for the last three years and four of the last six years. During the pandemic, Jacksonville hosted the 2020 and 2021 events.
Fightful (via Fightful Select) reported that as of last year, AEW had major discussions about moving the PPV outside of Las Vegas. It was noted that WrestleMania 41 taking place a month prior is becoming a factor in making a final decision.
Fightful also cited AEW sources who believe they won’t release its list of PPV dates for the year in advance as it did in 2024. WWE running a competing show in Orlando while AEW announced Worlds End months in advance was given as a reason for the shift.
