Report: Christopher Daniels To Continue Working With AEW After In-Ring Retirement

Christopher Daniels has retired from in-ring competition, but he will remain with AEW, according to a new report.

Daniels, 57, lost to “Hangman” Adam Page in a Texas Death Match at the AEW Collision: Maximum Carnage taping on January 16th. As previously reported, the bout marked Daniels’ final match, as he had effectively retired from the ring.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Christopher Daniels will continue in his role as AEW’s Head of Talent of Relations, and he will keep working behind the scenes. Per Sapp, Daniels had been looking to wrap up his in-ring career for a while.

Daniels has been with AEW since the company launched in 2019. He was part of SCU, and he had a run as an interim EVP in 2024 until Kenny Omega returned at AEW Worlds End.
