AEW Collision Results:

This week’s episode of AEW Collision kicks off with quick promos from Rated FTR, The Outrunners, Powerhouse Hobbs, Kazuchika Okada, Christopher Daniels, and Hangman Page hyping up tonight’s big matches.

Texas Death Match: Hangman Page vs. Christopher Daniels

  • The finish of the match saw Hangman Page hit Christopher Daniels with a Buckshot Lariat to the back of the neck to win the match by knockout.

Winner: Hangman Page

After the match, Page returned to the ring and hit Daniels with Angel’s Wings as an insult to injury.

Grade: A

What a bloody affair to kick off tonight’s show! This one was rather emotional for me knowing about the reports of this being Christopher Daniels’ final match. If this is truly it for him, what a wild way to go out. Retiring The Fallen Angel is a feather in Hangman’s cap he’ll be able to utilize for years to come.

What does Toni Storm have to say?

Tony Schiavone is in the ring and brings out Toni Storm. Storm says she doesn’t know what her life is right now and calls it surreal. Storm says this is a dream come true as she’s going to Australia and to the building where she saw her first wrestling show. Toni gets emotional talking about things her mother did for her to help her become a wrestler.

Schiavone brings up the fact she has to face Mariah May. Storm calls May the best in the business and says she’s killing it. Storm says she wants to go face-to-face with Mariah May next week on Collision. Schiavone tries to bring up the fact of their past but Storm convinces him to say that it’s Toni time instead.

We hear from The Hurt Syndicate. MVP lays out a challenge to Private Party for an AEW World Tag Team Title match this Wednesday on Dynamite. That match is official.

The Undisputed Kingdom (Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong) vs. Shane Taylor Promotions (Lee Moriarty and The Infantry) (w/ Shane Taylor)

  • The finish of the match saw Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong hit High Low on Shawn Dean. O’Reilly scores the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: The Undisputed Kingdom

After the match, Shane Taylor attacks The Undisputed Kingdom from behind and lays out all three men. Taylor starts jaw-jacking with Matt Menard who gets up from the commentators’ table. This brings out Daniel Garcia, who helps Undisputed Kingdom run off STP. All three members of the Undisputed Kingdom eyes Garcia’s TNT Title but they show each other respect.

Grade: B+

This was a fun showcase match for the reunited Undisputed Kingdom. It’s been a long time since we’ve got to see those three men work together and honestly, it just feels right. The aftermath with Daniel Garcia was very interesting. We’ll see where that goes, if anywhere, in the weeks ahead.

Will Ospreay wants to talk to Kenny Omega on Dynamite

We hear from Will Ospreay backstage. Ospreay says the issues with The Don Callis Family are much bigger than his past issues with Kenny Omega. Ospreay says he needs to talk to Omega face-to-face and will do so this Wednesday on Dynamite.

Brian Cage and Lance Archer vs. Top Flight (w/ Leila Grey)

  • The finish of the match saw Brian Cage and Lance Archer hit Dante Martin with a chokeslam/powerbomb combo. Cage scored the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: Brian Cage and Lance Archer

After the match, Lio Rush and Action Andretti come out and attack Top Flight. Lio Rush hits Darius Martin with a Frog Splash.

Grade: B

This was kind of a glorified squash match just to set up the aftermath. Nothing wrong with it, but I’m kind of surprised they are extending this breakup between the two teams. It felt like they were ready to go their separate ways but I guess not.

Chris Jericho wants Jon Moxley to trust The Learning Tree

The Learning Tree are backstage with Lexy Nair. Chris Jericho runs down his past with Jon Moxley and asks Mox to trust them tonight. Jericho says he might give them a reason to trust him before their match tonight. Nair wants to know what that means and Jericho blows her off and they walk away.

Daniel Garcia and Daddy Magic are backstage and The Undisputed Kingdom come in and thank them for the assist earlier against Shane Taylor Promotions. They agree to a respectful trios match next week on Collision that will feature the return of Cool Hand Angelo Parker.

The end of The Acclaimed

Max Caster is in the ring and says he wants to settle things with Anthony Bowens and calls him out to the ring. Bowens comes out and reads Caster the riot act and the crowd is very happy about it. Bowens says the people think he absolutely sucks.

Anthony Bowens says Caster is selfish. Bowens believes he has all the tools to be a World Champion. Billy Gunn comes out and asks what’s wrong with the two of them. Caster says Gunn doesn’t care about him and he just joined them to ride their coattails. Caster says Bowens is his best friend and every team Gunn has been a part of has broken up.

Max Caster wants him to choose between Billy and him. Bowens teases scissoring Caster but gives him the middle finger instead. Caster says Bowens made another bad decision and he’s ending The Acclaimed. Caster says he’s gonna prove he’s the best wrestler alive and that Bowens sucks without him. Bowens says he doesn’t need Caster and tells him to get the hell out of his life. Gunn and Bowens scissor as Caster fumes on the stage and leaves.

Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana are backstage with Lexy Nair. Swerve says the longer they spend time talking, the more time Ricochet has to get away from him. Strickland says he promises to Ricochet long before they meet in the ring in Atlanta next month.

AEW Continental Championship: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Tomohiro Ishii

  • The finish of the match saw Kazuchika Okada hit Tomohiro Ishii with a low blow followed by the Rainmaker to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: And still Continental Champion, Kazuchika Okada

Grade: B+

This was a fun match between two legends of New Japan Pro-Wrestling. The outcome for me was never in doubt, but I was very much entertained by it. Good stuff!

We get a quick promo from Gates of Agony who lay out an open challenge for next week’s episode of Collision.

Dustin Rhodes vs. Adam Priest

  • The finish of the match saw Dustin Rhodes hit Adam Priest with a twisting neckbreaker to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Dustin Rhodes

Grade: N/A

Just a quick squash match win for Dustin Rhodes. Nothing to see here, moving on.

A quick video package plays for Brody King, Buddy Matthews, and Julia Hart.

Julia Hart vs. Harley Cameron

  • The finish of the match saw Julia Hart lock Harley Cameron in Heartless to win the match by submission.

Winner: Julia Hart

Grade: B+

Good women’s match that played off what went down between Julia Hart and Harley Cameron in the Casino Gauntlet on Wednesday. Cameron continues to impress in defeat and I think she is going to have a big 2025 in AEW.

A video package plays recapping the return of Samoa Joe on Dynamite. He will face Nick Wayne this Wednesday night.

Things shift to the backstage area and we see The Learning Tree standing over Powerhouse Hobbs. Big Bill and holding Hobbs’ knee brace and Jericho is holding a bat. They tease that Hobbs won’t be able to compete in the main event.

It’s time for the main event…

Rated FTR, The Outrunners, and Powerhouse Hobbs vs. The Death Riders and The Learning Tree

  • The finish of the match saw Powerhouse Hobbs make it into the match and hit Bryan Keith with the spinebuster to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: Rated FTR, The Outrunners, and Powerhouse Hobb

Grade: B

Powerhouse Hobbs and The Outrunners celebrate as AEW Collision goes off the air.

AEW Collision Review:

While I wasn’t looking forward to tonight’s main event one bit, I thought the majority of the show really delivered. I loved the Texas Death Match and I’ve been begging for a breakup of The Acclaimed for months now. Also anytime I can see The Learning Tree and the Death Riders lose at the same time is a good time for me, I’ll take it!

Grade: B+
