Jeff Hardy Writing ‘Rehab Memoirs’ To Help Others With Addiction

Jeff Hardy is open about his past struggles with addiction, and he recently revealed he is working on writing a memoir about his time in rehab.

Speaking with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Hardy opened up about how he was writing his memoir. The TNA star noted that, as part of the process, he is using journals that he wrote while in rehab for addiction. Hardy said that he hopes to help people facing similar struggles.

“I can help people through being public and pretty much outgoing about what I’ve been through,” Hardy said. “I’m like a lot of people out there in the world, just really struggling with addiction, alcoholism. But hopefully that’s inspired a lot of people, me just being honest with everything.”

Hardy also reflected on where he came up with the idea for the memoir, noting that he took inspiration from Nikki Sixx’s book The Heroin Diaries.

‘And I just started this morning, actually – I’ve got five years of journaling,” he said. “I read this book called The Heroin Diaries a long time ago, I think Nikki Sixx put it out. My first day in my first rehab, I said, I might as well write about this every day and just share my experience. So I started going back through all those journal entries, five years of journal entries, and I wrote my first page today.”

Hardy has openly struggled with addiction throughout his life and career as a professional wrestler. In 2022, he was arrested for a DUI, and he subsequently had to reenter rehab. Since then, however, the legend is nearing three years of sobriety. He is now one-half of the TNA World Tag Team Champions.
