Trick Williams On Camelo Hayes
Trick Williams recently credited Hayes with helping him grow as a wrestler. Speaking on the No-Contest Wrestling Podcast, he highlighted Hayes’ impact on his career.
“God, my family and where I’m from. Aside from that, talking about inside the business? Somebody who laid a great platform for me, I can’t go without saying Carmelo Hayes,” he said. “I learnt a lot being beside or back and to the right of Carmelo Hayes. When he had the main event matches for the PLEs, for the Tuesday nights, I was able to sit there and learn and build a rapport with the audience without having the pressure of having to put on the 20-minute bangers for the title. I was able to see what the main event scene was like without having that pressure first.”
“I also got to sit back and learn all of Melo’s ways he did great and I got to learn what works for him and what didn’t work for him. He’s like the oldest child – it’s like a test run! I was able to learn so anytime anybody asks me, I give him his flowers because he carried the brand. I like to think I helped his career as much as he helped mine.”
