Matt Hardy is optimistic about a potential WWE return through the company’s relationship with TNA.
The TNA-WWE crossovers rolled on this week with TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich sitting amongst the crowd in WWE NXT. Fans of both companies have also expressed interest in seeing Matt and Jeff Hardy, the current TNA Tag Team Champions, resurface in WWE, where they previously held tag team gold as well.
While appearing on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, Matt Hardy addressed the possibility of The Hardys returning to WWE as a part of the TNA partnership.
“I feel good about that,” Matt said. “That’s one of the great things about working with TNA now. They know that we do have a lot of love for WWE. They know that we would like to do the Hall of Fame. We filmed some content for WWE that’ll probably be dropping pretty soon.
“Saw the Dudleys did it the day before us, and I know theirs just dropped recently, but we have a good working relationship with them. I think the perfect storm arose. I think you could see us pop up even as TNA champs on some WWE show at some point. Who knows?”
As Matt alluded to, he and brother Jeff filmed content while in Cleveland last August, specifically for WWE’s digital platforms. There is no word on when this content will be released. In the meantime, The Hardy Boyz are looking ahead to TNA Genesis, where they will defend their tag titles against The Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz).
