Toni Storm will challenge for the gold at AEW Grand Slam: Australia.
At AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage, a Women’s Casino Gauntlet determined the number one contender for the AEW Women’s World Championship. Kris Statlander and Jamie Hayter were the first entrants.
They battled back and forth before Megan Bayne made a surprise appearance as the third entrant. Bayne took control of the bout. Julia Hart was the next entrant. Hayter took the fight to Hart on the ramp. Willow Nightingale was the fifth entrant, but Bayne maintained the advantage.
Nightingale took control with a Pounce. Toni Storm entered the match and quickly gained the upper hand. Statlander dove off the ramp and onto Bayne and Nightingale. Harley Cameron then entered the match. Hart spit some mist and blinded Cameron. Storm then rolled Hart up for the win.
With the win, Toni Storm earned a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship. She will challenge Mariah May for the title at AEW Grand Slam: Australia. May previously beat Storm to win the title at AEW All In 2024. Storm took some time away from AEW and returned at AEW Dynamite: Winter is Coming.
