Kenny Omega made his AEW in-ring return at AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage.
For the first time since December 2023, Kenny Omega wrestled in an AEW ring at AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage on January 15th. Omega had been out of action for over a year due to diverticulitis until he returned at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty, where he beat Gabe Kidd. After he appeared at AEW Worlds End, Omega faced Brian Cage in his in-ring return at AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage.
Cage overpowered Omega throughout the match. He slammed Omega onto the broadcast table and powerbombed him from the ramp and into the ring. Omega rallied with V-Trigger and hit the One-Winged Angel for the win.
After the bell, the Don Callis Family attacked Kenny Omega, and Will Ospreay made the save. For the second week in a row, Ospreay helped Omega fight off the Don Callis Family. AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita then came to the ring and brawled with Omega. Kyle Fletcher attacked Omega, and Ospreay tried to help, but he was outnumbered. Takeshita and Fletcher stood tall, and Don Callis joined them.
