MVP Says His Knee Has Been Fine, His Cane Was Just A Nice Addition To His Character

MVP clears the air about his knee injury.

MVP signed with AEW after he left WWE, and he debuted at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam in September. He has reunited with Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley, and he will make his in-ring AEW debut at AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage. Before his return at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XII in November, MVP had not wrestled since July 2022.

In a post on Twitter, MVP said that the story about a knee injury keeping him out of the ring was never true. He wrote that he injured his knee during the pandemic, and he exacerbated the injury by continuing to wrestle on it for nine months. MVP said that he healed and transitioned to a new role, which he enjoyed.

MVP then said that the cane that he walks with on television has been a nice addition to his character. He stated that he had remained active outside of pro wrestling, and the stem cell treatment eliminated painful inflammation. He wrote that he had been fine.

In another post, he responded to a fan who asked whether he needed his cane. He stated that he hadn’t needed the cane in years, as his knee had been fine. MVP wrote that he used it once instead a crutch after his injury, and he kept it after many people urged him to keep it.
