Mickie James attended the WWE NXT taping on January 14.
On-screen, Tuesday’s night episode of WWE NXT featured surprise appearances from Bayley, DIY, and TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich. Additionally, the likes of Charlotte Flair and Mickie James were spotted backstage.
James’ presence was confirmed by social media posts from Karmen Petrovic and Lola Vice. “With the godmother herself,” Petrovic wrote on X alongside photographs and her and James. Vice’s post came courtesy of her Instagram story, showing herself and James smiling backstage.
While unconfirmed, James’ presence at NXT may be related to the WWE LFG tapings that took place prior to this week’s NXT broadcast. Along with Bubba Ray Dudley, Booker T, and The Undertaker, James serves as a regular coach for the series, which follows up-and-coming talents on their journey to potentially secure a WWE contract. Other mentors involved in the series include NXT booker Shawn Michaels and WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque.

James’ WWE in-ring appearance came in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble, in which she entered as the TNA Knockouts Champion. In her 11-minute tenure, the former WWE Women’s Champion eliminated her former rival Michelle McCool before being eliminated herself by WWE Hall of Famer Lita.
