WWE Tag Team Champions DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) appeared on the January 14th episode of WWE NXT.
Gargano and Ciampa were interviewed backstage on Tuesday’s show. When asked about their appearance, Ciampa said that NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer and Axiom) had brought them to the show. He noted that he had heard a lot about the duo and people said that they were the best tag team in NXT history. Gargano then said they were at the top of the mountain, and they knew that they would face Fraxiom one day.
Gargano stated that he wanted to see what Fraxiom could do in person. Ciampa went on to say that they were not there to cause any problems.
Later in the show, Fraxiom defended their NXT Tag Team Championship against OTM. Gargano and Ciampa were shown watching the match. Frazer and Axiom scored the win to retain the titles, and they looked over at Gargano and Ciampa after the match.
Gargano and Ciampa are former NXT Tag Team Champions, and they both held the NXT Championship as well. Additionally, Gargano is a three-time NXT North American Champion.
DIY beat the Motor City Machine Guns for the second time on the December 6th episode of WWE SmackDown.
