Report: Corey Graves Won’t Appear On 1/14 WWE NXT

Corey Graves said that he had a lot to say on WWE NXT, but he reportedly won’t be appearing on the show.

Corey Graves sparked controversy on Monday when he addressed his move to NXT in a tweet and implied that he was told that he was “not famous enough” for his job. He then took to Twitter again on Tuesday morning and teased that he had a lot to say on NXT.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com and Steven Muehlhausen of Walkway Fight then reported that Corey Graves would not be on WWE NXT on Tuesday night. Johnson’s report noted that Graves was seen leaving the Orlando area, and he would not be at NXT.

Sean Ross Sapp and Corey Brennan of Fightful Select then reported an update, citing sources who indicated that Graves wasn’t happy about his move to NXT. The report emphasizes that it is unclear whether the situation with Graves is a work or a shoot, but those close to him claim that it’s legitimate.

Fightful Select‘s report stated that they could not confirm that Corey Graves left the Orlando area. However, he was not at NXT rehearsals as of 3:45 p.m. ET on Tuesday, and only two chairs were set up at the commentary table.

More Details

Sapp and Brennan note that Corey Graves re-signed with Corey Graves in January 2024, and he has at least a few years left on his deal. They cite one WWE source who noted that WWE often shuffled their commentary teams, and a WWE higher-up said that they would be shocked if Graves was not back on RAW or SmackDown by the spring. It was also noted that Graves previously earned praise for being flexible with his role and schedule.

Brennan also cites sources who claimed that Graves was legitimately frustrated about being moved to NXT. Furthermore, sources were surprised to see Graves at NXT New Year’s Evil, and one said that they thought he worked the show because he was in town, as it came the day after the RAW on Netflix premiere.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
