Jon Moxley has zero regrets about telling a crowd that Patrick Mahomes was going to piss his pants.
The AEW Champion and his wife Renee Paquette were the Rulers of the Jungle for the Cincinatti Bengals match against the KC Chiefs back in 2022. The Ruler of the Jungle ceremony was first established in 2021. It is a pre-game, celebrity-led moment where The Ruler leads the “Who Dey” chant right before kick-off.
However, Jon Moxley went one step too far. His comments got the celebrities banned from talking on a live microphone, although he argues that what he said wasn’t even that bad.
Jon Moxley and Renee Paquette recently sat down with Matt Koesters for Cincinnati.com ahead of AEW Dynamite in the city. They spoke about how Moxley forced the Cincinnati Bengals to ban the “ruler of the Jungle” from having a live mic after his comments about Patrick Mahomes.
“I think they took away a live (microphone) from anybody going forward.” Jon Moxley said. “I didn’t even say anything that bad. They asked me to pump up the crowd.”
“You said, ‘Patrick Mahomes is going to piss his little red pants all the way back to Kansas City,’” Paquette replied.
Jon Moxley then retorted, “Yeah, and that’s not that bad. It’s not that bad at all. Get out of here, dude. It’s Sunday. This is football. It’s not Sunday School hopscotch. It’s the NFL. But yeah, they got all upset about it.”
Jon Moxley On AEW’s Future Potential: It’s So F**king Huge, We’re Not Even Scratching The Surface
AEW World Champion Jon Moxley recently spoke with Scott Fishman of TV Insider. When asked if he sees big things on the horizon for the company, Moxley said the potential is huge and they’re not even scratching the surface of it yet.
“The potential of AEW is so f*ckin’ huge. We’re not even scratching the surface of it,” Jon Moxley said. “Just the roster of wrestlers is this ridiculous bounty of riches. Just a ridiculously stacked roster of the best wrestlers in the world. So many people you haven’t even seen yet of what they can do. I’ve seen what they can do. I can imagine what they can become if we water that seed and let it grow.”
