Another title match has been confirmed for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
On the January 13th episode of WWE RAW, Sheamus defeated Ludwig Kaiser in a hard-fought match. After the bout, he confronted WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker, who was sitting in the crowd.
Breakker shoved Sheamus, and officials separated them.
Later in the show, the broadcast team confirmed that Breakker would defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Sheamus at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Sheamus previously challenged Breakker for the title in a three-way match at WWE Survivor Series. He then missed some time with a cracked rib before he returned on the December 30 episode of WWE RAW.
Sheamus On WWE Intercontinental Title
Sheamus recently discussed his interest in winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship in an interview with Chris Van Vliet on his Insight Podcast.
“You say that, right? It’s the IC curse of The Celtic Warrior. It’s the one thing I can’t win. The irony is that it’s the first title I really became focused on because Macho Man was in a feud with Steamboat over it. So when I started watching Macho Man was the first IC champion. So the one title that I was exposed to as a fan is the one I can’t win, which has become this kind of crusade. But it’s definitely an IC curse for me.”
