Buff Bagwell Wants A WWE Hall Of Fame Induction Or Job As Trainer

Buff Bagwell wants to get back under the WWE umbrella, whether as a trainer or a WWE Hall of Famer.

The former WCW star only wrestled two matches in the WWE. The first was a house show in July 2007, following a loss as he challenged for the WCW Championship on Raw the following night. Both matches were against Booker T.

However, the match completely bombed. WWE presented it as a WCW match, complete with WCW referees and commentators. The fans rejected the match, wanting to see the stars of WWE and not WCW, which had gone under earlier that year.

Despite this failure, Buff Bagwell still wants to be welcomed back into the WWE family. He spoke on his official YouTube channel about wanting to be back under the WWE umbrella in some way (H/T to WrestlingInc for the transcription).

He said that’d he love a legends deal or a job as a trainer, helping teach the young talent at the WWE Performance Center. However, Buff Bagwell hopes he will earn a Hall of Fame induction, believing he is on the path to being a good human being.

“I’d love to have some kind of Legend deal. Or helping the boys, or helping the school out. Some part of being under that WWE umbrella. I’d love to be a part of that.” Buff Bagwell told his YouTube channel.

“The 20 years I blew, I believe will be corrected before I die,” Bagwell said. “I really believe I make the resume part of it. But there’s more to the Hall of Fame than that. You gotta be a good person and show that you’re a good human being, and I’m on that right path now. I just hope and pray that I will [get there],” added Buff Bagwell.

Buff Bagwell previously said he turned down a group Hall Of Fame induction

In 2021, Buff Bagwell said he turned down an offer to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame with the nWo. Bagwell told the Who The Fook Are These Guys? podcast that WWE asked him to be part of the group’s Hall Of Fame induction ceremony.

“They actually called me to do the Hall Of Fame thing. I was like — I’ll be honest with you, I said, ‘I don’t want to be part of a group going into the Hall Of Fame.’ It’d be like Brett Favre getting a [NFL] Hall Of Fame ring because of the Green Bay Packers,” Bagwell said.

The host asked to clarify that this was for the nWo group induction in 2020 with Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and X-Pac. Bagwell said he declined and reiterated why he chose to turn down the group nomination.

“No. Sh-t no. Because it wasn’t me that got in with the nWo, that wasn’t me that was getting into the Hall Of Fame. It wasn’t the same. I said, ‘Hey guys, don’t take this wrong, please. I’d rather it be for something that I did, not something that the group did. Even though that’s cool, it really isn’t cool,” Bagwell stated. “It’d be like Brett Favre getting a Hall Of Fame ring for the Green Bay Packers, that ain’t cool. I mean, Brett Favre got a ring because he’s Brett Favre.”
