Janel Grant’s Attorney Issues Statement On Vince McMahon Settling SEC Charges

Janel Grant’s attorney issues a statement on Vince McMahon settling his charges with the SEC.

On January 10th, the Securities and Exchange Commission announced that Vince McMahon would pay more than $1.7 million in relation to charges that he did not disclose payments regarding the alleged hush money payments he made, as reported by The Wall Street Journal in 2022. The SEC announced that McMahon agreed to the settlement without admitting or denying the SEC’s findings.

Meanwhile, in January 2024, Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE, alleging sexual assault and trafficking. McMahon denied the allegations, but the investigation into the allegations is still underway.

Ann Callis, an attorney for Janel Grant, has issued a statement in response to Vince McMahon settling his charges with the SEC.

The statement, courtesy of WWE Survivors, is as follows:

“During his time leading WWE, Vince McMahon acted as if rules did not apply to him, and now we have confirmation that he repeatedly broke the law to cover up his horrifying behavior, including human trafficking. The SEC’s charges prove that the NDA Vince McMahon coerced Ms. Grant into signing violates the law, and therefore her case must be heard in court.

“While prosecutors for the Southern District of New York continue their criminal investigation, we look forward to bringing forward new evidence in our civil case about the sexual exploitation Ms. Grant endured at WWE by Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis.”
