We might have our answer as to who Gunther will stand across the ring from at WrestleMania 41, and it isn’t who you’re expecting.
While the card for this year’s WrestleMania slowly starts to take shape, there are a ton of questions surrounding who will challenge current World Heavyweight Champion Gunther at WWE‘s marquee event. A new report suggests his opponent will surely turn some heads.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, there have been creative pitches for Logan Paul to be Gunther’s opponent at WrestleMania 41.
Johnson also states that at this point nothing is locked in stone right now, but the idea of the match is being pushed internally in creative circles within the company.
While this report might be surprising, the first teases of this potential encounter took place at the RAW on Netflix Kickoff last month in Stamford. Logan Paul stated early in the broadcast that his goal was to become World Heavyweight Champion. When Michael Cole asked Gunther about this later in the show, The Ring General responded by saying the following:
“Well, he’s obviously a very talented man athletically,” Gunther said. “But also in the entertainment world, he’s a jack of all trades, as they say. But I don’t believe World Heavyweight Champion is one of them. That being said, I think my English is pretty good by now, but I’ll make it even simpler.
“If Logan Paul thinks he can walk in here and take this away from me. If he ever makes it to the top of that line to challenge me for the World Heavyweight Championship. It will be my duty and my pleasure to slap that stupid smirk out of his face.”
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information on the WrestleMania 41 card as it becomes available.
