The Hurt Syndicate set their sights on the AEW World Tag Team Championship on AEW Dynamite.
On the January 8th episode of AEW Dynamite, AEW World Tag Team Champions Private Party (Xay & Quen) celebrated their successful title defense this past Saturday on AEW Collision. The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP) interrupted the champions.
They initially joined in the party, as MVP proposed a toast to the champions. He called them incredibly talented athletes. Lashley then toasted to The Hurt Syndicate taking the titles from Private Party.
Lashley then defeated Mark Briscoe in a singles match. Private Party made the save when The Hurt Syndicate attacked Briscoe after the match.
Private Party won the AEW World Tag Team Championship at AEW Fright Night Dynamite. Lashley also made his AEW debut at the show.
Bobby Lashley On His Vision For The Hurt Syndicate
In a recent interview with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Lashley discussed his vision for The Hurt Syndicate.
“We’re not trying to be anything,” Bobby Lashley admitted. “I think everybody thinks, ‘Oh, you gotta be in—wrestling terms—babyface or heel.’ No, it’s not. No, we don’t. What we’re trying to do is we’re trying to take everything that we can from this business by any means necessary.
“Whether you like it or love it, that’s up to you. Some people chant, ‘We hurt people.’ Some people chant against my opponent. It really doesn’t matter to me. Our goal is still the same. We got a plan. We have a vision and we have expectations that we set upon ourselves that we will achieve.” [H/T: Fightful]
