Report: Internal Reactions To Hulk Hogan’s WWE RAW On Netflix Appearance

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan was heavily booed when he appeared at the WWE RAW on Netflix premiere. A new report provides an update on the situation.

Hogan’s appearance came the same day that his Real American Beer was announced as a new WWE ring mat sponsor. He plugged the sponsorship and hyped up WWE’s move to Netflix. Howver, he was booed so much that many mainstream outlets covered it.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Hulk Hogan had been planned to make multiple appearances tied to the partnership. Regarding his WWE RAW on Netflix appearance, Sapp writes that many WWE sources were not happy that Hogan getting booed had become a major talking point coming out of the show. The report notes that several sources had brought up the possibility that Hogan would get booed.

Per Sapp, sources said that Hogan was “surprised and disappointed” that he got booed, but he brushed it off backstage.

More Details

Sapp also highlights the speculation that Hulk Hogan could turn heel to lean into the reaction. One WWE source noted that this would not have been the original plan, and they believed that WWE would likely “consider the context in which Hogan is used” moving forward. Furthermore, this source said that many knew that Hogan getting booed was a possibility.

As for the Real American Beer Partnership, Sapp writes that this is not expected to end. The report cites one source who indicated that they mentioned possibly using a more modern WWE talent or legend to help endorse the product.
