Dominik Mysterio has a lot to achieve in wrestling before cracking Hollywood.
The younger Mysterio has been one of the most hated heels in wrestling since turning on his father at Clash at the Castle 2022. He is regularly booed out of the building, especially since he left Rhea Ripley for Liv Morgan last summer.
While he has been very successful in the WWE so far, Dominik Mysterio wants to cement his family’s legacy before making the move to Hollywood.
Dominik Mysterio recently appeared on Busted Open Radio where he was asked about a potential move to Hollywood.
The WWE Superstar admitted that “Hollywood isn’t ready for Dom”, saying that he wants to make his mark in WWE before trying to become a movie star.
“Man, I don’t know if Hollywood is ready for Dom just yet. At this point, I feel like I’ve got to make my point and my statement here in the wrestling world. Like I said, I’m only four years in, and I’ve already got people who’ve been in this business for years trying to catch up to me. It’s honestly such a blessing. It really feels like I can grab the bull by the horns and take control.
“I want to cement myself here as the greatest Mysterio of all time. When you hear the name Rey Mysterio, all these accolades and thoughts come up. When you hear Dominik Mysterio, you think ‘Dirty Dom,’ the kid who turned on his father. But I’m going to take it to the next level. I’m going to take the Mysterio name to places it’s never been before. And then—then we’ll go to Hollywood.
Dominik Mysterio Was Warned To Stay Away From His Family At WrestleMania 39
Dominik Mysterio was warned not to mess with his family during his match at WrestleMania 39.
While speaking on No Contest Wrestling with O’Shea Jackson Jr. & TJ Jefferson (H/T to Fightful for the transcription). Dominik Mysterio revealed that he was wanted to stay away from his mother and sister and ringside.
“At WrestleMania 39, I was pulled aside by, I won’t specify who, and they said, ‘Don’t do anything to your family up front. If there is something there, don’t touch it. Stay away.’ I was like, ‘Alright.’ I asked them, ‘How serious are we about me staying away? My mother did try and slap me a couple of times.’” Dominik Mysterio said.
“I pushed the buttons a little bit. We started the match and I see that….as stupid as she [Dominik Mysterio’s sister Aalyah] is, she is holding this red cup right in front. Just posted up there. You’re asking for something, either me slapping it or. At first, I took it. I originally wanted to take a sip of water.”
“I look at it. And I realize there wasn’t too much in there. I figured, ‘Let’s just throw it in her face. It’s not like she is going to hop over (the rail),’ and if for whatever reason she hop over and put her hands on me, that’s assault. I would have hit her back. Or security would have tackled her. She needed to be taken care of.” Added Dominik Mysterio.
