Lexis King officially won the NXT Heritage Cup at WWE NXT New Year’s Evil.
King previously defeated Charlie Dempsey on the December 24th episode of WWE NXT to win the NXT Heritage Cup. King’s cornerman, William Regal, hit him with brass knuckles. Due to the disqualification, King won the NXT Heritage Cup. NXT General Manager Ava later booked a rematch for NXT New Year’s Evil due to the controversy, and she made King give the Heritage Cup back to Dempsey.
Lexis King and Charlie Dempsey clashed at NXT New Year’s Evil. Dempsey’s No Quarter Catch Crew stablemates were at ringside, but King overcame the odds. In the end, King accidentally hit Dempsey below the belt when Charlie went for a leapfrog. King then hit the Coronation for the win to officially become the NXT Heritage Cup Champion.
