Dude Love And JBL Appear At OVW Event

Dude Love and JBL made surprise appearances at a recent OVW event.

On January 4th, Ohio Valley Wrestling ran their “Nightmare Rumble” event. The promotion is run by Al Snow, who featured prominently in the Netflix documentary “The Wrestlers” which featured OVW as its subject.

The event featured two Royal Rumble-style matches, dubbed “Nightmare Rumbles”. The first was a women’s match which was won by Hollyhood Haley J. She is looking to move into working for a company like WWE, which this win will certainly move her closer towards.

However, it was the men’s match that had the biggest surprise. Mick Foley, as his WWE persona Dude Love, appeared as an entrant in the Nightmare Rumble. He accused Jack Vaughn of attacking Mick Foley, so he was out for retribution for his alter ego.

As he pulled out Mr Socko to hit him with the Love Handle, Jack Vaughn vaulted the ropes, eliminating himself from the match as he was chased away by Dude Love. The OVW crowd were in stitches at the moment, which was a favourite of the night.

While this hilarious moment was a huge surprise, it was not the only one for the OVW crowd that night.

JBL continued his gimmick of turning up in indie promotions and clotheslining people in the main event. This time, it was in the aid of the Nightmare Rumble winner Doug Basham. JBL helped his former The Cabinet teammate to cash in his title shot by clotheslining both EC3 and Cash Flow in the main event.

JBL even Tweeted after the event, declaring that the Cabinet was back on top.

“My clothesline world tour continues (and my leprechaun trashcan tour running simultaneously) Cabinet is back on top in @ovwrestling
