Netflix VP Comments On What Viewership Success For WWE RAW Will Look Like

WWE RAW moving to Netflix will be a game-changer, as the show will no longer air on traditional television. This will change the way that viewership is evaluated. A Netflix VP recently commented on the situation.

Netflix VP of Unscripted and Documentary Series, Brandon Reigg, recently spoke with The Athletic and commented on the steaming service’s deal with WWE. Reigg noted that the success of the show will be evaluated the same way as other shows on the platform.

“At its core, it’s no different to any other entertainment program,” Reigg said. “It’s a case of saying, ‘What does it cost?’ and then, ‘What’s the return of that investment in terms of how many people are watching it and their level of engagement?.’ It’s no different to (dating show) Love Is Blind, (dramas) Black Doves or Stranger Things. We look at it through that same lens.”

“I see the opportunity to be similar to when I commissioned Drive To Survive, our F1 series. I think we have a real opportunity here to grow the audience and the awareness of the brand. Netflix has this incredible reach and the trust of its members, who are willing to try things that they might not otherwise have sampled, and we’ve seen that time and again. We can give Raw a turbo-boost.”

WrestleZone will have full coverage of WWE RAW as it airs on January 6th.
