WWE star Becky Lynch will reportedly be in “Happy Gilmore 2”.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that Lynch (real name Rebecca Quin) has filmed a supporting role for the film, which will be released on Netflix. This will be a fitting crossover for WWE. WWE RAW will premiere on the streaming service on January 6th.
Johnson writes that Lynch will be part of a group of golfers, which will also include Reggie Bush.
AEW star Maxwell Jacob Friedman is also part of the cast, as are Adam Sandler, Christopher McDonald, Dennis Dugan, Ben Stiller, Bad Bunny, and others. The film is set to be released on Netflix in 2025.
This report comes just weeks after Becky Lynch herself shared the news that she had been cast in “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy”.
Becky Lynch has been absent from WWE programming since May. She then reportedly entered free agency. Her return has not been confirmed, but she was at the WWE media event to promote RAW’s move to Netflix at Netflix headquarters in December. Lynch is widely expected back when WWE RAW premieres on Netflix, and she was briefly shown in the official trailer for the show.
Liv Morgan On Becky Lynch
WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan previously praised Lynch. Speaking with Kenny McIntosh of Inside The Ropes, she said that Lynch was already a Hall of Famer.
“I think if Becky never comes back, I definitely think she is 100% a Hall of Famer. She has become a martyr for women’s wrestling and performance all around. She can do it all, she can deliver in the ring, she can deliver on the microphone. The crowd is compelled by her when she’s out there, not to mention what she stands for in women’s wrestling.
“Her goal, I think, was to really evolve it and maximize women’s wrestling and really make women’s wrestling feel just as special and important as the men’s wrestling, and she did it all while being a fantastic brand-new mummy. But with all that, she’s still not as great as me. (laughs),” Liv Morgan said.
